1. Who will win the Universe, International, and World Ambassador Award ®?

The Award is presented to an extraordinary person in the guise of a teacher, mentor, coach, scientist, fireman, policeman, etc.
The Award does not just include material things, but Fellowship as well with like minded philanthropic, kind, and compassionate people set on making the world a better place.
The Award is not based on religion, politics, gender, number of societies the person belongs to, titles that they currently hold, etc.
We are looking for a person with a truly noble heart, and will inspire others to the same.
The Award is not based on who you are, who you know, or what you are, but what you do for the betterment of your field and for Society as a whole.

2. What is the Award?

The greatest portion of the award is not material, it is a Fellowship.
The recipient will become a recognized Fellow of their respective field within the Ambassadorial Society.
The recipient will receive either Universe Ambassador, International Ambassador, or World Ambassador status within the Society.


3. What is the difference between an Ambassador and a Fellow?

An Award recipient becomes a Fellow of the Ambassadorial Society.
An Award recipient becomes an Ambassador of the Society to the rest of the world.
The Society hopes that the new Ambassador will be able to further the goals of the Society and inspire others around them.

4. Why does the Award recipient receive a Ceremonial Sash and Coat of Arms Medal?

The Society believes that it is important for everyone to leave a legacy.
This legacy is based on goodness and faith in the common man.
These items can be left to descendants to inspire them to follow in the recipient's footsteps.

5. What are the Levels of Ambassadorship in the Society?

Based on the amount of work done if a particular or several fields, the recipient is placed in a category.
There are THREE levels of Fellowship: Universe, World, and International.
Universe Ambassador is the highest level and reserved for those who have been recognized universally for their philanthropy and ideals, and their contribution to their field.  (For example, Nobel Prize winner.)
World Ambassador is reserved for those who are able to promote the goals of the Society to other Nations, travel to other Societies either through their work (e.g., military, Doctor's without Borders, etc.) or via missions.
International Ambassador is reserved for those in the particularly located in a particular  Hemisphere or Region or Country (i.e., US Ambassador), who have made an incredible difference in many people's lives.
Foreign Ambassadors usually fall into the International Ambassador category.
Each Ambassador has the right to petition for a higher level of Fellowship within the Society on a yearly basis as that Ambassador's roles in their work and projects expands.

6. Who has voting rights?

All members have voting rights when determining the inclusion of new Fellow Ambassadors into the Society.
Only members in good standing may vote.
Only those members available and present at an appointed time will be able to vote.
Society guidelines and regulations will be set forth only by the governing body.

7. Why does it take so long for the review process?

Much consideration must be taken into reviewing each nominee's submission.
This is not a traditional pageant or a beauty contest.  Peer review in various disciplines are required.
Portfolios are carefully considered and will NOT be returned.  (Please Submission Guidelines.)
Portfolios will be archived at the Society's headquarters.
It is an honor to nominated by someone who thinks extremely highly of the nominee, and thus all recommendations must be carefully scrutinized.

8. Can we use our Universe, International, or World Ambassador title in helping our cause(s)?

Of course, these titles are not conveyed on just anyone.
Each nominee undergoes a rigorous process of nomination and review.
As long as the Ambassador furthers the goals and ideals of the Society can they maintain their title.
Each Ambassador will be reviewed on a yearly basis to ensure that they are continuing their good works.
Only if an Ambassador is still active in the community can he or she maintain their Lifetime Membership.

9. If we purchase the vestments of the Society, when can we wear them?

Ambassadors may wear their accoutrement at official gatherings.
Ambassadors may only wear their accoutrement at proper settings.  (For example, one does not plant a tree wearing the Society's collar.)
Ambassadors may wear their accoutrement at special and auspicious occasions.
Ambassadors are to use their accoutrement to inspire and convey the goals and ideals as Fellows of the Ambassadorial Society.
The are No Refunds or Exchanges.

10. What do we have at the end of our names?

All members are Fellows of the Ambassadorial Society (FAS).
Members may choose to place FAS after their name.  (For example, Dr. John Doe, PhD, FAS)
Members may choose not to include FAS after their name.

11. Can Ambassadors create their own stationery?

Ambassadors can have their own stationery, but it must be approved by the governing body.
The top of the stationary should include the Coat of Arms of the Society, the words "Ambassadorial Society," and the Ambassador's address.

12. What are the rules and guidelines in Submissions?

In No Instances will Plagiarism be tolerated or allowed.
Nominees will be eliminated from the review process immediately.
Nominees must have Good Moral Character.
Nominees agree that if selected as  an Ambassador, he or she will participate in promoting the Ambassadorial Society and the Society's goals and ideals.
Ambassadors must have on-going projects that reflect their philanthropic goals.

13. What are the requirements for both Nominees and Ambassadors?

ALL AMBASSADOR and NOMINEES agree UNCONDITIONALLY AND FOREVER to release any claim against and hold harmless the Ambassadorial Society or its officers, directors, employees, agents, subsidiaries, assigns or corporate parents, which the Nominee and
Ambassador may have, by virtue of participation in the Ambassadorial Society or any use of his or her name, likeness, voice, biographical information, including use in promotional advertising materials.
Ambassadors and Nominees must be of high moral character, and should this found to be untrue will the Ambassador or Nominee be summarily expelled.
Ambassadors who flagrantly utilize their titles in an inappropriate manner will be summarily expelled.
Disputes among Ambassadors and Nominees will be resolved by the governing body.
The Ambassadors and the Nominees will adhere to the guidance and resolution of the governing body.
Failure to adhere to guidance and regulations by the governing body either verbally or written will cause disciplinary actions which may result in the expulsion of either the Ambassador or the Nominee.
The Universe, International, and World award is trademarked and cannot be used for any purposes without the authorization of the governing body.
The Coat of Arms for the Society is registered and cannot be used for any purposes without the authorization of the governing body.
Violation of the code of conduct or the Golden Rule will result in disciplinary actions which may result in the expulsion of either the Ambassador or Nominee.
Ambassadors and Nominees agree to the following RELEASE WAIVER and ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I, for myself, my heirs, next of kin, personal representatives and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Ambassadorial Society, its
members, successors and assigns, as well as organizers of Ambassadorial Society events or activities. I agree to hold all aforementioned individuals harmless from all liability, loss, claims, demands, possible causes of action, court costs, attorneys’ fees and other expenses
arising from any lawsuit that may otherwise accrue from any negligence, loss, damage or injury (including death) to my person or property in any way resulting from, or arising from any Ambassadorial Society event or activity, including travel to and from club events or
activities.  I know the risk and danger to myself and property, both from known risk and unanticipated risk, while participating or assisting in Ambassadorial Society events or activities, and I do so voluntarily and in reliance, not upon the property, equipment, facilities and
existing conditions furnished by others, but upon my own judgment and ability, and I thereby assume all risk of loss, damage or injury (including death) to myself and my property from any cause whatsoever and whether or not attributable to the negligence of others.  By
undergoing the nomination and review process, and accepting the membership of the Ambassadorial Society, I and my parents (any minor under 18 years of age)  to both the ASSUMPTION OF RISK and RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY clause stated above.

14. What is the Code of Conduct?

Commitment to ethical and professional conduct is expected of every member (voting members, associate members, and foreign members) of the Society.
Adhere to the Golden Rule.
Contribute to society and human well-being.
Adhere to the principle concerning the quality of life of all people affirming an obligation to protect fundamental human rights and to respect the diversity of all cultures.
Minimize negative consequences of actions, including threats to health and safety.
Members will be socially responsible, will meet social needs, and will avoid harmful effects to health and welfare.
Avoid harm to others.
Be honest and trustworthy.
Be fair and take action not to discriminate.
Adhere to the values of equality, tolerance, respect for others, and the principles of equal justice govern this Society.
Discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, age, disability, national origin, or other such factors is an explicit violation of Society policy and will not be tolerated.
Honor property rights including trademarks, copyrights and patents.
Give proper credit for intellectual property.
Respect the privacy of others.
Honor confidentiality.
Strive to achieve the highest quality, effectiveness and dignity in both the process and products of professional and public works.
Strive for Excellence
Continue to acquire and maintain professional competence.
Know and respect existing laws pertaining to professional and public works.
Accept and provide appropriate professional reviews.
Honor contracts, agreements, and assigned responsibilities.
Articulate social responsibilities of members of an organizational unit and encourage full acceptance of those responsibilities.
Acknowledge and support proper and authorized uses of the Society's resources.
Articulate and support policies that protect the dignity of others.
Uphold and promote the principles of this Code.
Treat violations of this code as inconsistent with membership in the Ambassadorial Society.
Adherence of members to this code of ethics is largely a voluntary matter. However, if a member does not follow this code by engaging in gross misconduct, membership may be terminated.

15. Will my portfolio be returned?

No.  Portfolios will not be returned.
Portfolios will remain the property of the Society and archived.
Petitions for increasing a member's Fellowship level will be compared to that member's past portfolios.

16. How do I submit a portfolio?

Please have Nomination Form in Front with a Letter of Recommendation from Nominator.
Submit ONLY COPIES of any Transcripts, Certificates, and other Important Documents as your portfolio will not be returned.
Submissions that are messy or disjointed are usually not reviewed favorably.
In No Instances will Plagiarism be tolerated or allowed.
Any false or untrue statements or behavior will result in termination of review.
Portfolio should be divided into the following suggested sections: Professional, Articles Published, Community Service (include Clippings, Articles, Photos), Education (Include copies of certificates and transcripts), Personal Achievements, Challenges and on going
projects, and Recommendations (at least 3 with one from a state, national, and international organization).
Portfolio should include one biographical summary and picture that may be placed on the Society website.

Please provide address, telephone, and email information so that the Society can contact you for confirmations and interviews.

17. When will the Society meet?

The Society will meet at least once a year and all members will be notified by the Governing Body.
Until then, the Members are encouraged to submit articles and pictures for the Society's on-line Gazette to showcase their on-going projects.
Members will wear their Accoutrement at such meetings or gatherings.

18. What if my Submission is Rejected?

Those who do not make the Membership rolls at this time are considered as Associates or Friends of the Society.
They will not be voting members but can attend meetings and gatherings.
They will not be able to purchase accoutrement, but may petition to wear a medal of the Society.

19. What are the yearly or lifetime dues?

Regular Members 25 USD Per Annum
Associate or Friends of the Society 25 USD Per Annum
Life Member $250 (one time fee)
Honorary Members -- No dues.

What will be on the Sash?

Sashes other than the Ceremonial Sash must represent your level of membership.
If you are a World Ambassador of the Arts and Sciences your sash will state: WORLD AMBASSADOR or something similar with the words: "Arts and Sciences" in the top left shoulder quadrant on the sash.
On the Website, it will state that you are a World Ambassador in the ARTS/SCIENCE section.
Sashes must be ordered through the Governing Body.
SASHES RESERVED FOR SPOKESPERSON(S): Ms. World Ambassador, Ms. US World Ambassador, Ms. Universe Ambassador, etc.
